Checking DNS Propagation
Any time changes are made to your domain's DNS information, the changes must propagate across all DNS servers on the Web. This process can take anywhere from 24-72 hours. During this time, you can check the propagation status to see what nameservers your domain is currently pointing to.
Nexcess now offers a Global DNS Checker tool which allows you to perform a DNS lookup to check a hostname's current IP address and other DNS information against a selection of random name servers around the world. This tool provides a quick and easy way to check the status of DNS propagation after you have made changes to your nameservers/DNS records. If most (or all) of the servers respond with the desired result, it is likely that changes to your DNS have been fully propagated across the Web.
