How to change PHP versions in SiteWorx

SiteWorx allows you to change your PHP version at will. All PHP applications and commands run from this SiteWorx account will use this version of PHP.

Compatibility issues and recommendations for Magento

Before changing your server’s PHP version, verify all your applications and plug-ins are compatible with that version.

Attention: Though older versions are available for convenience, we recommend PHP 5.6 for Magento 1.x or PHP 7 for Magento 2. Older versions have reached end-of-life (EOL) and are therefore less secure.

  • Magento 1.x officially supports only PHP 5.6 and earlier at this time.
  • If you use Magento 2, we recommend PHP 7, which will give you better performance than other versions.

  1. Log in to your SiteWorx account.
    • If you do not know your password, click Forgot Your Password? on the login page.
    • If you do not know the web address for your SiteWorx login page, either refer to your Welcome Email or contact our 24-hour Support Team for assistance.
  1. From the SiteWorx main menu, click PHP Version.

  2. From the Update PHP Version drop-down list, click your desired version, then click Select . You have now changed the PHP version for your account, and these effects take place immediately.

For 24-hour assistance any day of the year, contact our Support Team by email or through the Client Portal.
