How to create custom affiliate links

Overview
This article demonstrates how Nexcess clients can create custom Affiliate links from the Client Portal and how to view other affiliate information.

What you need

Things to know 

  • You are welcome to create a link to the Nexcess home page or any other part of the Nexcess website
  • When a referral follows one of these links, it creates a cookie with a 30-day expiration period. If that referral places a qualified order on our website within those 30 days, we will process the commission to your account.
  • Cookies are specific to the browser that created them. Therefore, if a referral orders from a browser than did not create the cookie, we cannot process the commission.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Client Portal.

  2. From the dashboard, click Affiliate > Links.

  1. Click Add Link

  1. Complete the Name and Target URL fields, then click Add.

    • The Name represents your name for the link. It will only be visible to you.

    • Target URL represents the web address used in the link.

    • In the Status field, select either Active or Inactive. The link will only be usable if you select Active.

     

  2. If your new Affiliate entry does not appear, refresh the page. Once it appears, choose that menu toggle corresponding to that entry, then click View. Note this toggle also allows you to Edit and Delete your entries.

  3. Find the desired banner, then click Copy to copy the HTML for inclusion into your site.
